Investing.com -- Cryptocurrency exchange Nexo said today it will return to the United States. The announcement was made during a business event in Bulgaria, which was featuring a speech by Donald Trump Jr., Executive Vice President of The Trump Organization.
"America is back — and so is Nexo," Antoni Trenchev, Co-Founder of Nexo, said. He expressed gratitude to President Donald Trump, his administration, and his family for creating an environment where innovation is encouraged, not hindered.
Donald Trump Jr. highlighted the growing importance of cryptocurrencies and digital assets for the U.S., emphasizing their role in solidifying economic leadership and ensuring America remains at the forefront of technological progress.
"I think crypto is the future of finance," said Trump Jr., emphasizing the need to bring this opportunity back to the U.S. financial sector. He also stressed the importance of a supportive regulatory environment that empowers entrepreneurs and safeguards the nation’s competitiveness in the digital economy.
The event brought together the global business elite and notable figures from the international investment and innovation sectors.
Nexo’s return comes after the company agreed in 2023 to pay a $45 million fine to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for "failing to register the offer and sale of its retail crypto asset lending product, the Earn Interest Product (EIP)."
