
Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Industrials , Consumer Goods & Services and Consumer Staples sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC rose 0.21%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Kimberly - Clark De Mexico A (BMV: KIMBERA ), which rose 3.23% or 1.14 points to trade at 36.40 at the close. Meanwhile, Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV: ALFAA ) added 2.72% or 0.38 points to end at 14.34 and Regional SAB de CV (BMV: RA ) was up 2.48% or 3.57 points to 147.40 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Controladora Vuela Compania de Aviacion SAB de CV (BMV: VOLARA ), which fell 3.17% or 0.29 points to trade at 8.85 at the close. Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (BMV: PEOLES ) declined 3.01% or 15.59 points to end at 502.50 and Becle SA (BMV: CUERVO ) was down 2.16% or 0.49 points to 22.20.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 130 to 104 and 8 ended unchanged.
Shares in Kimberly - Clark De Mexico A (BMV: KIMBERA ) rose to 52-week highs; up 3.23% or 1.14 to 36.40.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.85% or 28.70 to $3,330.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.42% or 0.28 to hit $66.70 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to trade at $68.87 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.05% to 18.83, while EUR/MXN rose 0.06% to 21.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.59% at 98.34.
