Russia stocks higher at close of trade; MOEX Russia Index up 1.50%

Investing.com – Russia stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Mining , Telecoms and Power sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia Index rose 1.50%.

The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia Index were Bank VTB PJSC (MCX: VTBR ), which rose 5.29% or 3.96 points to trade at 78.87 at the close. Meanwhile, Mobil’nye Telesistemy PJSC (MCX: MTSS ) added 3.27% or 6.35 points to end at 200.75 and ADS Ozon Holdings PLC ORD SHS (MCX: OZONDR ) was up 2.69% or 106.50 points to 4,062.50 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Aeroflot PJSC (MCX: AFLT ), which fell 1.34% or 0.82 points to trade at 60.42 at the close. Rostelekom PJSC (MCX: RTKM ) declined 1.23% or 0.74 points to end at 59.29 and Moskovskaya Birzha PJSC (MCX: MOEX ) was down 0.90% or 1.56 points to 171.01.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 183 to 59 and 9 ended unchanged.

The Russian Volatility Index – RVI , which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia Index options, was down 1.15% to 29.13 a new 6-months low.

Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.85% or 28.70 to $3,330.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.42% or 0.28 to hit $66.70 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.01% or 0.01 to trade at $68.88 a barrel.

USD/RUB was unchanged 0.00% to 77.91, while EUR/RUB unchanged 0.00% to 90.57.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.59% at 98.34.
